Upon arriving at the Colombo Airport, after clearing immigration, you will be met by our Joy Travels representative who will have you transferred to a hotel. The rest of the day will be for you to spend as you wish, relaxing, sightseeing or shopping (on your own). Overnight at hotel in Colombo.
After breakfast, you will be proceeding on a half-day sightseeing tour of this largest city of Sri Lanka. You will be driving past affluent neighbourhoods, beautiful Buddhist temples-Hindu temples-mosques, the splendid Wolvendaal church – an amalgamation of Dutch and Sri Lankan architecture, art galleries, parks, then visit the Colombo National Museum, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Folk Art Centre, Independence Square in Cinnamon Gardens, Odel - a reputed departmental store, Majestic City shopping complex, a ceramic showroom, Barefoot Handicraft store in Galle Road, Lakmedura in Cinnamon Gardens, and the popular pavement markets of Pettah and Fort areas. After the tour is over, you may continue with sightseeing or shopping (on your own). There are several places to shop in Colombo – malls, speciality stores, besides the street markets. Following breakfast, you will have the day to yourself to indulge in water or beachside activities, relax, go shopping or sightseeing (at your own cost). You may like to visit the Dehiwala Zoo, which has a large number of animal species from all over the world; the Min Medura or aquarium with over 500 varieties of marine life; besides, the Zoo houses an aviary and a Butterfly Park, with an elephant show in the evenings. You can take a cycle safari in the suburbs, which will take you around the Parliamentary complex, a lake, and a bird sanctuary. There are several shopping districts in the city, selling designer labels, jewellery, ethnic handicrafts, and a wide range of Sri Lankan tea. There are innumerable restaurants, pubs, nightclubs, grills, cafes with a variety of cuisine, and restaurants in Mt Lavinia serving good food and liquor on the beach close to the water. After breakfast, you will be checking-out of your hotel, but may have a little while to do some last-minute shopping, before your scheduled transfer to the airport to take your flight back to Delhi.
